Trekking this summer: Jakhol to Sirga top
As
a travel enthusiast, I have been always looking for
Offbeat places, with calm and serene atmosphere away
from bustling city. This winter we got chance to explore
such a place called Jakhol, right in the middle of
Govind National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. For the
nature lovers and trekkers, this place is a must visit
place, with river Rupin flowing down the valley and
snow on the mountain hills, abundance of flora and
fauna.
Some of the very famous treks just start from near
by like
Sankri-Taluka-Osla-Har-ki-dun (38 km)
Sankri-Taluka-Osla-Ruinsara Tal (40 km)
Naitwar-Himri-Droni-Rupin Pass-Sangla (60
km). (high-altitude difficult trek)
Ruinsara Tal-Yamunotri (20 km). (high-altitude
difficult trek)
Thinking of trekking, What comes to ones mind is,
trekking is not everyones cup
of tea. Yes, to some extent. While we were in Jakhol,
one of our objective was to defy this common theory.
And we were quite successful in doing so. The answer
to this beleif is why not doing a small trek, but
yet enjoyable as a 4 or 5 day trek would be.
After the consultation with villagers, they took
us to a small trek to Sirga top just 5 Kms
from Jakhol village. Recommended to anyone who ever
wants to do some light trek.
Entire trek is through thick cover of deodar trees
and scenic beauty everywhere.
This summer, we plan to take nature lovers to this
beautiful valley so get in touch with us at rakesh@travinfoindia.com. |
