Route: Delhi – Bagdogra – Darjeeling – Gangtok – Phodang – Rumtek – Kalimpong- Bagdogra – Delhi
Day 1. Arrival Delhi: You will be assisted on arrival at Delhi International airport and then transferred to the hotel to spend overnight at hotel.
Day 2. In Delhi: In the morning after breakfast you will be taken on a full day sightseeing of Delhi starting from a walking tour of old Delhi’s narrow crowded streets through spice market and Chandni Chowk busy with their day to day business apart form grand Jama Masjid and magnificent Red Fort. You will then have a delicious lunch break at renowned Karim’s restaurant before driving to see some of the New Delhi sights such as Qutab Minar, India Gate, Humayun’s tomb and the old Fort by the evening. You are recommended to have an excellent dinner with great food options at Panadara Road very close to India Gate. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3. Delhi / Bagdogra/ Darjeeling (90 kms): Today morning you will be transferred to the airport to board flight to Bagdogra. You will be assisted at the airport on arrival, then transfer to hotel in Darjeeling. Having checked in at the hotel, there is relaxation then visit to Happy Valley Tea Garden and leisurely nature walk. There is overnight stay at hotel.
About Darjeeling: Darjeeling is popularly known as the “Queen of the Hills”. It is the famous tourist hill resort situated at an altitude of 2150m (6,800 ft). The average temperature during summers is around 20c and 10c during winters. In Darjeeling you may enjoy a variety of activities from leisurely nature walks to adventure activities as trekking and river rafting. There is heavy monsoon between June to August .It is famous for its natural beauty, mountains, tea gardens and breadth taking views apart from Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a World Heritage Site. Darjeeling produces the famous Darjeeling Tea, one of the world’s finest teas. Darjeeling is a unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism visited by the leisure and adventure traveler alike.
Day 4. In Darjeeling: Today early morning at 4 am, drive to Tiger Hill to see the spectacular sun rise then visit to monasteries on the way back. Having breakfast full day city sight seeing for the rest of the day visiting Batasia Loop, War Memorial, Ava Art Gallery, Rock Garden, Ganga Maya Park. Peace Pagoda and Botanical Garden. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Darjeeling Places to See: Tiger Hill, Batasia Loop, War Memorial, Ava Art Gallery, Rock Garden, Ganga Maya Park. Peace Pagoda, Botanical Garden, Nightingale Park/Srubbery Park, Darjeeling-Rangit Valley Passenger Cable Car, Senchal Lake, Dhirdham Temple, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Ghoom Monastery, Tashi Dargyalingh Monastery or the Tamang Ghumba and The Mag-Dhog Yolmowa Buddhist Monastery (Aloobari Monastery)
Day 5. Darjeeling / Gangtok (90 kms): Today morning you will be transferred to Gangtok by road. Having checked in at hotel, relaxation for some time then sight seeing for rest of the day visiting places of tourist interests. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Day 6. In Gangtok / Phodang / Gangtok (38 kms one way): In the morning after breakfast same day excursion to Phodang. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Phodang Monastery: It is a Buddhist monastery of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism in southern Sikkim and located 28 kilometers from Gangtok. It was built in the early 18th century. The monastery is a residence of several monks and has a rich collection of some ancient murals.
Day 7. In Gangtok: In the morning after breakfast full day sight seeing of the city visiting Rumtek Monastery, Tsongo Lake and Nathula Pass. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8. Gangtok / Rumtek (24 kms): In the morning having checked out from the hotel departure transfer Rumtek. Having checked in at hotel, there is relaxation for some time then visit Rumtek Monastery; the largest monastery in the Eastern Himalaya. It is the seat of Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Day 9. Rumtek / Kalimpong: In the afternoon having checked out from the hotel departure transfer to Kalimpong. Kalimpong is a small hill station leads through the most scenic routes between Siliguri and Gangtok. The town is 1250 m above sea level and offers excellent views of the Mt Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan peaks. Having checked in at hotel sight seeing for the rest of the day visiting Gompas, Flower Nurseries, Shri Mangal Dham, Sericulture Research Institute, Dr. Graham’s Home, Kalimpong nine-hole golf course and Nature Interpretation Centre etc. There is overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10. Kalimpong / Bagdogra / Delhi: In the afternoon departure transfer to Bagdogra airport, 80 kms away to catch flight to Delhi. Assistance on arrival at Delhi airport ten transfer the hotel to spend overnight.
Day 11. Delhi/ Back Home: In the morning after breakfast full day at leisure in Delhi then transfer to the airport as per the flight schedule to board flight back home.
