Elephant Safari in Corbett


Deep in the Corbett Tiger Reserve, you can enjoy peace and tranquility while exploring the remote forests and valleys in the foothills of the Himalayas. On our eco-friendly elephant Safari, you spend days looking for tigers and nights staying in forest bungalows built during the British Raj.

These bungalows have basic amenities and are comfortable. A retinue of servants will provide you with clean linen, towels and toiletries.Dinner and drinks are served around a bonfire. You travel in style riding on elephant back through areas inaccessible to vehicles. Following traditional briddle paths, elephant migration routes and game trails, you can view wildlife and birds in their natural habitat in the virgin forests. Day 1. Arrive Delhi
Arrival in Delhi and Transfer to Hotel Overnight in Hotel.

Day 2. Delhi
After breakfast Leave for sightseeing in Delhi. Visit city tour of New Delhi. Visit India Gate, Laxminarayan Temple, Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple and drive past President and the Parliament house. Return to hotel for Overnight.

Day 3 Delhi - Ramganga - Corbett - Dhikala
Depart early from New Delhi to arrive for lunch at the wildlife resort. A nature walk accompanied by a naturalist, along the Kosi River. This area is a birders' paradise. A slide show on the flora & fauna of the area. Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park for tiger tracking. We drive along the Ramganga, to look for the fish eating Gharial and Marsh Crocodiles. With the possibility of seeing 05 species of Kingfishers, Pallas & Himalayan Greyheaded Fishing Eagles, Osprey, Crested Serpent Eagle and of course the Mammalia, the Safari is magical. Arrive at Dhikala, the natural setting is awesome and the location picturesque. Lunch / rest / relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the grassland area and its abundant wildlife. The elephant ride from Dhikala provides the opportunity for close viewing of wildlife.Overnight in Resort

Day 4. Corbett
Early morning Jeep Safari in the Gairal area and into the awesome wilderness of the Park. Arrive at the wildlife resort. Drive in the jeep to get to the point where we start the elephant safari. Enroute visit Kanda situated at an elevation of 1020 m, where Jim Corbett shot the Kanda Man-eater. After a picnic lunch we start the elephant Safari in the Himalayan foothills. The experience of just being on an Elephant - a silent bulldozer which has unmatched cross country abilities. You can change seats with the Mahout and get the feel of driving an Elephant. Arrive, after leisurely driving / riding, at Rathuadab Forest Rest House, built in British bungalow style for overnight stay in the wilderness.

Day 5 Corbett
We start a complete full day on elephant back, stopping enroute at a picturesque spot for breakfast, always learning the mysteries of this wonderful animal. The birdlife in this lower altitude wilderness is rich. We take rest at Modiapani Forest Rest House & give our elephant a break and a bath in the stream. Start elephant safari for the Sonanadi sanctuary, going along the rocky Plain river, the forested areas and scenery is spectacular. We arrive at Halduparao Forest Rest House built in 1892 was broken down by Wild Elephants and abandoned. The Sonanadi Sanctuary was included in the Corbett Tiger Reserve and this Forest Rest House was restored, a few years ago. After a hot water bucket wash, we get together at a campfire. Overnight stay at the forest rest house.

Day 6. Corbett
Option of either going for an elephant ride or Jeep Safari or nature walk with an armed guard in the Sonanadi Sanctuary area, for wildlife viewing. After breakfast, we depart by Jeep with packed lunch via Sendhikhal / Saneh / Morghatti / Kalagarh / Jhirna / Dhela / Ramnagar, reaching the resort by late evening.

Day 7. Delhi
Option of either going for an elephant ride or Jeep Safari or nature walk with an armed guard in the Sonanadi Sanctuary area, for wildlife viewing. After breakfast, we depart by Jeep with packed lunch via Sendhikhal / Saneh / Morghatti / Kalagarh / Jhirna / Dhela / Ramnagar, reaching the resort by late evening.

Day 8. Corbett - Delhi
After Breakfast, Nature Walk to the Jungle for wildlife viewing. Overnight Train to Delhi.Transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9. Delhi
Day at Leisure .Transfer to International Airport for Onward Journey.
